Emerald Center is a private, non- profit, governmental agency which serves people with disabilities & special needs and their families in Greenwood, Abbeville, Edgefield, McCormick and Saluda counties.
Headquarters are located at Palmetto Place, 2350 Hwy. 72/221 E., Greenwood with centers located at 929 Phoenix Street in Greenwood, 101 R. L. Sawyer, M.D. Road in Saluda and 5 Griffin Drive in Ware Shoals.

Emerald Center provides infant stimulation, child development and adult vocational services for day program individuals as well as year-round, 24 hour-a-day residential care in licensed community homes.

Emerald Center offers the opportunity for people with disabilities and special needs to reach their full potential. All programs are operated in the least restrictive environment and are licensed by the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. Emerald Center is funded by federal, state and county appropriations, the United Way and donations.

Any eligible person with mental retardation, autism, head or spinal cord injuries or other special disabilities in Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, McCormick and Saluda counties may receive services through Emerald Center.
